Colorado Monster Madness Announces Exciting Video Game Competition For 2018 Horror Con

Organizers behind the exciting new Horror Con Colorado Monster Madness have announced their teaming up with Littleton, CO Bash Brothers Gaming Cave and Worped Studios to host a one of a kind, horror themed gaming tournament at the July 2018 event.

We are using a horror survival game along the lines of Amnesia and SOMA. The idea is to see just how long you can survive by allowing us to shut you away in a dark room, with only the light from the screen flickering in your eyes. Placing headphones on your head, ensuring every heavy breath by your character is heard, causing your heart to pound. This in your face horror is going to be mind blowing. It is just like being in a horror movie. The reward will be a sculpted character trophy from the game by Worped Studios own Brandon Hovet. His creations are insane and well worth the $20 entry fee. So if you really think you are a gamer, better than the rest…put your money where your mouth is and prove it!

Led by the phenomenal team over at EyeSoar Images and Creations, and after over 2 1/2 years of precise and dynamic planning, the promoters of the guaranteed game changing Colorado Monster Madness will be launching the first annual event July 6th-8th, 2018, to be held at the Renaissance Denver Stapleton Hotel in Denver, Colorado. Along with a variety of progressive divergences from the standard convention format, watch for various announcements regarding the convention over the course of the next two years.

Brandon Hovet is the artist and owner behind Worped Studios.
He grew up on horror movies, drawing comic book characters, collecting Star Wars action figures and reading books such as ‘Savage Sword of Conan’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’.
Brandon is a self-taught artist. All his work begins with freehand illustration. He often says he can’t imagine doing his art any other way. His influences include Bernie Wrightson, Ernie Chan, Rudy Nebres, Frank Frazetta and Joe Jusko. Brandon has had the opportunity to illustrate for IDW’s 30 Days of Night and Imperium Comics’ Trailer Park of Terror graphic novel series.
Initially, he thought he wanted to work exclusively in comics but was also drawn to the special effects and haunted attraction industry. He has combined his love of design, illustration and airbrushing to develop a new approach toward creature design.
He has designed props for Denver special effects studios and haunted attractions. In his props, the influences of Rob Bottin, Dick Smith, Rick Baker,Stan Winston, Steve Wang, KNB and Tom Savini can be seen.
After many years of designing for other businesses, Brandon decided to venture out on his own. He felt it was time to invest in himself, create his own ideas and have artistic control over his work. Worped Studios made its official public debut at the 2013 Denver Comic Con. He has developed the Arachnidead product line to accompany an upcoming graphic novel titled Decay.
He also teaches courses at DEAD Academy in Denver, Colorado.
Brandon lives in Brighton, Colorado with his wife Bobbie and two children, Ben and Brooke. He is very proud that both of his children have picked up his love of art and are developing as artists. They love to help him design and create monsters.
