The summer festival season is over, the preparations for Winter are about to start and also the line-up for Wacken Winter Nights is taking shape with each passing month! So, September is here and we don’t want to let the month pass by without confirming new bands and here they are!
HULDRE is a rising star in the European metal scene. In their home country Denmark they already belong to the spearhead of the local metal scene and also abroad they gathered lots of fans with their spectacular musical symbiosis of Nordic folk music and metal since their founding in 2010. German Metal Hammer even highlights the band as “heroes of tomorrow”. So far the band has released 2 albums and played countless successful club- and festival shows across Europe. In 2019 they will finally give their live debut at Wacken Winter Nights!
THE O’REILLYS AND THE PADDYHATS are next on the list and they bring us Irish Folk Punk at it’s best! Their highest priority? Good mood! The 7 musicians from Gevelsberg in Germany were founded in 2011 and have released 3 albums so far. Their most recent album „Sign of The Fighter“ was released in 2017. In all the years since they were founded, they toured across Europe from Spain to Russia and also played a very successful show at Wacken Open Air 2016. Now they will have their debut at Wacken Winter Nights in 2019!
HOLLY LOOSE can’t get enough of Wacken Winter Nights! In 2017 he had his first appearance with a musical lection of Edgar Ellen Poe stories followed by the 2018 gig with his main band LETZTE INSTANZ. In 2019 he will return with his solo project for a unique acoustic set at the village church. The upcoming debut album “Melancholia” will be released on November 11th, 2018 and according to the band, it will be “the saddest album in the German language worldwide” and be performed as an acoustic set at Wacken Winter Nights 2019!
With HELSOTT we get reinforcements from overseas! The US pagan death metal band from southern California was founded in 2010. They played lots of shows in the US together with bands like Heidevolk, Tyr, Trollfest and Arkona for example. On October 12, 2018, their new album “Slaves and Gods” will be released and in 2019 they will tour across Europe and give their debut at Wacken Winter Nights!
But that’s not all! More bands will follow within the next weeks and months!
