As August rolls in, the days are getting shorter and the nights will soon be colder. If the end of summer is bringing you down, fret not as Monster Energy won’t let the season go away without a rocking party. Before fall sets in, the folks at Monster Energy will be sponsoring a huge rock and roll event. The Rock Allegiance Festival is scheduled to return to the Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, PA. The best news of all is that this year’s show will be two days, instead of one and will be held on September 17 and 18.
The Talen Energy Stadium is a state of art 18,500 seat Major League Soccer stadium which opened in 2010. Located just off Interstate 95, the venue has plenty of parking, is located just 15 miles from Philadelphia, 2 hours from New York City and 90 minutes from Baltimore, Maryland.
The festival layout makes it easy for music fans to see all the acts throughout the two days. Two main stages stand side by side on the field, while one tent stage stands just outside the venue. A band will play the one main stage and at the end of the set a second band will begin playing the tent stage. When that set concludes a third band will start playing on the second main stage, before a fourth begins at the tent stage. The rotation is simple, seamless and there is enough time to get from the main stages to the tent stage and back again without missing a song.
In addition to the music, the festival will offer some of the same fare from last year’s event including craft beers from Evolution, Troegs, Victory, Fordham & Dominion, New Belgium, and Starr Hill. In addition to the great brews, the gourmet food will be back including Braz-BQ, Chickie’s and Pete’s, The Cow and Curd, Dos Hermanos, Dump N Roll, M.A.T.T.’s Gourmet Sliders, Mama’s Meatballs, Seoulfull Philly, Sum Pig and the Tot Cart. After you consume all that food and beer you can walk off the calories by visiting the many merchandise vendors and charitable organizations that will have booths setup on the stadium grounds. If that’s not enough for you, Zippo will be there with limited edition lighters and Jack Daniels will offer tours of its traveling museum.
If you’re wondering about the music, Saturday boasts 18 bands including The Word Alive, Sick Puppies, Avatar, Buckcherry, Trivium, Motionless in White, The Cult, The Offspring, Breaking Benjamin and Alice Chains. If that doesn’t kick your ass, Sunday surely will with 18 more bands including Crobot, Hellyeah, Sevendust, Mice & Men, Killswitch Engage, Anthrax, Ghost, Pierce the Veil, Chevelle. Slayer, Volbeat, Avenged Sevenfold and more.
If you’re looking for a final summer party, the Rock Allegiance Festival should not be missed. For more information regarding tickets and the event, visit rockallegiance.com. Hope to see you there!
