Femme Fatale: May 2016 – KRISTA WALKER

Krista, thank you for wanting to be a part of the AntiHero Magazine’s Femme Fatale lineup! Please tell our readers a little bit about yourself.

My name is Krista Walker and I am a 25-year-old fitness competitor & health enthusiast. I am very passionate about all things involving my well-being as I genuinely enjoy challenging my body in the gym & taking care of my physicality. I am also a fierce advocate of donuts & all desserts & treats –because sometimes you have to live a little! I truly enjoy travelling across the world & experiencing new cultures & meeting new people. I hope to visit every continent before too long! I also love time with my husband, family & friends as they motivate & inspire me to be a better wife, sister, daughter and friend.

What is it about extreme music that attracted you to it?

Music, and especially extreme music ignites a flame within me and gets my creativity and mind in motion. I enjoy nothing more than blaring a really awesome rock song while I’m at the gym to get or keep me pumped up. Listening to high intensity music while cooking in the kitchen definitely makes me feel like a foodie aficionado & makes meal prepping much less mundane!

When you’re in the gym or preparing for a fitness competition, what music really sets the mood for you to push the limits?

I personally enjoy a rock/hip-hop playlist while I am in the gym. I need music that is fast paced and pushes me to go as hard as I can in the weight room!

What are some accomplishments you’ve achieved so far with your modeling and/or fitness career?

I just recently competed in my first fitness competition in March and placed in the top five! Bodybuilding and competing has absolutely made me feel more confident in my skin and has provided me with several opportunities in the modeling world. It is amazing to me how many doors have opened in my benefit simply because I am willing to go outside my norm and branch out.

Do you feel that rock and metal music have a place in the work of competitive fitness?

I certainly do! As far as the day of a competition when a competitor is posing on stage and showcasing all of their hard work – nothing beats an awesome high-intensity metal song to help boost your confidence and influence your stage presence.

So you are fairly new at modeling, what can we expect to see in the future of Mrs. Walker?

I am very much a beginner in the modeling atmosphere, perhaps a year and a half under my belt. I’m very hopeful that I will be presented with more opportunities to showcase my fitness life & maybe even be featured as an influential fitness figure in the future.
